Membership

The Wanneroo Community Men’s Shed Inc. (WCMS) is a place for nurturing mateship and creating feelings of belonging and acceptance. We have several programs with a variety of roles where members develop a positive and participatory culture while contributing to community outcomes as part of our structured program for advancing Men’s health and wellbeing. Now for the informal talk… we are men that live in Perth, western Australia that attend our shed and work together on projects that benefit the community. Our ages range from young adult up, with a large number over the retirement age. Here, age is just a number as members can try their hand at woodwork, metalwork, salvage, administration, computer networking and much more. We look out for each other and work together towards our vision as an independent and self-sufficient charity organisation.

Want to join?

We welcome any adult men (18 and over) to visit our shed and see if it suits what you are looking for. New members are nominated by existing members, so our intake process is to have prospective members attend for several weeks to see if it works. There is no fee to attend as a visitor. If you are interested, please contact us to set a time to attend and have a tour.

Limits to membership numbers

Although we have a large workshop and run programs Monday to Friday, we still have limits to how many people can safely work in each of our program areas. Due to this we may limit new members occasionally. We have close to 100 members and appreciate your understanding as we manage places to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our members.

We are proud a member of Men’s Sheds of WA, the peak body that represents and supports sheds throughout WA. All Men’s Sheds are different, with activities and social environments that suit different individuals.
